Arts Council Funded Artist

Hello my lovelies,

with the weather improving and lots of things to look forward to in the summer, I wanted to take a moment to thank Arts Council England (ACE), and The National Lottery, for the funding I've received.

In November 2022, I received ACE funding for a project titled ‘Granny Norbag Saves The Planet And Flies The Flag For Rotherham.’

As part of the project I got to write, rehearse and develop my brand-new show ‘Granny Norbag Saves The Planet.’ Funding from WEAREIVE and Help Musicians contributed massively to this show in the research of Environmental themes and creation of the music for the performances. Sheffield Theatres funded the backdrops for the show and helped with the development of the script. RMBC, The Rotherham Civic Theatre and Rotherham Libraries all played a part in getting this show on the road too.

To date I've performed 19 dates of my tour and entertained over 2000 children, their families and school staff. I've still got several dates left and I’m loving sharing this show with my fans.

Following the show, there will be an eco project that everyone who has seen the performance can take part in. Children will be encouraged to create their eco messages with the world in a series of videos.

As part if the funding, I've also been taking part on a smartphone video creation training programme with Wayne Sables. With additional funding from FLUX Rotherham, myself and 15 Rotherham creatives are learning to create short videos and digital output that will help us reach our audiences kn new ways. The films we create, will be shared at an event at the Rotherham Civic in October and I hope lots of you will attend. More details of this will follow.

So I’d like to thank Arts Council England, The National Lottery and everyone else who has made this project possible.

Toodle pip,

Granny Norbag
